OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2011. Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Infrastructure Borys Kolesnikov opened new modern runway of CE "International airport "Donetsk"". Solemn opening of reconstructed artificial landing strip was marked with the plane "Mriya" which has landed on it at the airport" Donetsk".

"A new runway at airport "Donetsk" is not only the advanced in our country, and one of the best as a whole in the Europe, - Borys Kolesnikov told. - It completely conforms to all international standards and is capable to accept all types of planes, in particular, Airbus-380 and Boeing-747. Today's landing of plane "Mriya" has confirmed the high standard of a new strip".

The vice Prime Minister of Ukraine emphasized that in Ukraine it is carried out modernization of an aviation infrastructure. As he said, our state will receive four modern international airports in this year - in the beginning of the following.

Borys Kolesnikov noticed that on results of the first half-year of 2011 the Ukrainian use air transportation more and more. "During the first half-year 3.1 million people have taken advantage of it. In general the air transportation provides growth on 23.6 % in comparison with the first half-year 2010 ", - vice Prime Minister of Ukraine told.

The new runway in Donetsk has length of 4 km, width - 75 meters, thickness - 1 meter.

Work on reconstruction of airport complex CE "International airport "Donetsk" is divided into three stages: the first includes directly a runway, the second - provides construction connecting paths № 1 and 2 and a site of the main steering path in length of 1.64 km. Both of these stages are executed, it has allowed to lead with advantage process of certification and to put into its operation. It has been used ultra strong concrete of mark М-450. A total area on which works were spent - 270 hectares.

The third stage provides construction of objects which are not necessary for switching rise and landing on new strip, - its completions in current to year. Consequently, 2,2 more kilometres of the main steering path will be constructed, as well as construction connecting steering paths 3,4,5,6 is completed. Besides, in this year builders plan to lay 520 thousand m2 of a covering on platforms of the Donetsk airport. In total at the third stage it is necessary to conclude nearby 700 cube meters of concrete.

Now at airport complex "International airport "Donetsk" active works are proceeding on construction of platforms. On object up to 400 person and more than 250 units of techniques are routinely working.
