OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2011. DnB NORD Leasing and the Volkswagen Centre Riga delivered some of the 48 Volkswagen Golf cars that are to be provided to the Latvian Road Traffic Safety Directorate (CSDD) for driving examinations over the next three yearsб reported the press-centre of DnB NORD Bank.

DnB NORD Leasing and the Volkswagen Centre Riga submitted a bid in the CSDD bid for tenders in this regard and was chosen to deliver the cars.

"Future drivers deserve an opportunity to take their tests in secure, comfortable and state-of-the-art automobiles," says DnB NORD Leasing director Raimo Smukais.  "We are proud that we won the bid for tenders and are sure that we will enjoy successful co-operation in future, as well."

The 48 Volkswagen Golf cars have been leased to the CSDD for three years, and the sum of the transaction is above EUR 900,000.

"The Volkswagen Golf is the most popular and most often bought model of Volkswagen cars here in Latvia.  Before delivering the cars to the CSDD, we equipped them with the equipment that is needed for driving examinations," explains Volkswagen Centre Riga director Agris Stanevics.

The new cars have been equipped in line with the EURO5 standard.  They come with economic 1.6-litre TDI 105 horsepower engines, and they also satisfy major ecological demands – fuel consumption of 4.5 litres per 100 km and the emission of CO2 emissions at a level of 119 grams per km.

"The bid for tenders that was launched last autumn had very serious demands.  The cars to be leased for the next three years had to be economic, dynamic and safe.  Also of importance was not just the technical equipment of the car, but also the overall cost.  Thanks to DnB NORD Leasing, we found the best price," says the head of the Qualifications Department of the CSD, Juris Teteris.
