Estonia Initiated Substantional Redesign of Airspace
OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2011. The Estonian Aviation Stakeholders (Estonian ANS, Air Force and Tallinn Airport Ltd) initiated a number of the development projects for substantial redesign of Amari, Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport airspace and PBN (Performance-Based Navigation) flight procedures implementation, reported the press-centre of EANS.
The initiative covers Amari military airbase CTR and Tallinn TMA redesign as well as P-RNAV and CDA (Continuous Descent Approach) procedures implementation. Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication as Estonian ANS’s superior and Ministry of Defence have signed a Memorandum of co-operation to perform the development work in the mentioned airspace. Amari airbase part of the airspace and flight procedures design will be done in co-operation with the Danish consultancy company The Royal Danish Air Force Base and Tallinn TMA part in co-operation with the Swedesh consultancy company LFV Consulting AB.
The GNSS based procedures implementation started also at the other domestic aerodromes in Estonia. This work is led by Tallinn Airport Ltd in co-operation with the Finnish company Finavia and Estonian ANS. The first aerodrome where the procedures will be implemented is Tartu aerodrome. The next will be Kuressaare and Kardla.
