OREANDA-NEWS. July 26, 2011. According to the airport’s operating results of the first six months 2011, significant growth of passenger carriages is marked on the tourist routes.

The time of holidays is in the heat. Novosibirsk citizens chose more often foreign resorts to spend their summer holidays. This fact is confirmed by the results of airport operations during the first six months 2011.

Passenger flow on the tourist routes increased twice in comparison with same period of the last year and made up 110,000 passengers; in 2010 the number of passengers departed to the warm countries didn’t exceed 50,000.

Totally during the first six months 2011 the whole passenger flow made up 1.2 million passengers. 738,000 passengers were carried by the domestic flights (10% more than the similar index of 2010). The growth of international carriages in comparison with the same period of 2010 made up 53 % - 412,000 passengers.

The most demanded destinations among the Siberian citizens from Novosibirsk airport have become the following cities: Antalya, Bangkok, Barcelona, Burgas, Varna, Goa, Dalaman, Denpasar, Larnaca, Paphos, Phuket, Rimini, Thessaloniki, Sanya, Ho Chi Minh City, Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh.

The leading positions belong to Bangkok (35,000 passengers), Phuket and Antalya (22,000 for each destination). In 2011 the popularity of Antalya has increased on 30 %, Bangkok – on 70 %, Phuket - on 80%. The main air carriers on these routes in 2011 have been the following air companies: Nordwind Airlines, which carried more than half of all passengers, Transaero (20,000 passengers) and S7 Airlines (12,000 passengers).
