Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Kazkommertsbank Present Innovative Product
OREANDA-NEWS. July 26, 2011. The national company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Kazkommertsbank have undertaken an innovative new project to implement a computerized system for cargo transportation orders. Soon it will be possible to specify logistics and make and pay for cargo transportation orders online, reported the press-centre of Kazkommertsbank.
The project has been executed using the Kazakhstan Temir Zholy website and Kazkommertsbank’s “Оnlinebank” program, which has been integrated into the website. A presentation of the project is taking place in seven Kazakh cities (Karagandy, Atyrau, Aktobe, Pavlodar, Oskemen, Shymkent and Almaty) in July and August of this year.
This jointly developed product will give shippers a number of significant advantages and conveniences. The system will be available 24 hours a day and enable them to do the following for themselves: produce a delivery schedule on the basis of deadlines, cargo type and destination, as well as order and pay for any kind of cargo transportation. The speed of completing the process will also save clients time and resources. All reference materials will be available in the standard access mode.
Among other things, the integrated Onlinebank program enables clients to flexibly manage their company’s accounts and automatically pay off any outstanding amounts by using funds sent to their account. In this way, companies can minimize the amount of interest they pay to the bank, gain functions relating to the daily management of accessing and discharging credit, and avoid the need to prepare substantial quantities of documentation regarding controls on the specific use of credit. The company also has access to up-to-date information about all import/export transactions booked through Kazkommertsbank.
As part of the cargo transportation order system, Kazkommertsbank will provide business owners with a bank account overdraft facility in case the shipper does not have funds available in its current account.
The Onlinebank system is completely mobile and payment security is ensured by digital certificate technology and digital signatures. In addition, the data communication channels between the client’s computer and the Kazkommertsbank server have several layers of protection to guard the system against intrusion. Furthermore, the use of a multi-level access system and signed financial documents, as well as restriction through the application of ceilings ensures a higher level of security for funds.
Kazakhstan Temir Zholy’s Managing Director for Information Technologies, Asan Dosaev, commented: “We began using innovative methods for promoting railway services with the launch of the online booking and purchase of passenger tickets. Now it is the turn of cargo transportation. To implement this service, we took into account the experiences of other countries that have already created systems for making cargo transportation orders via Internet. We are currently testing all of the processes and in the second half of this year our new system will be made available to all those wishing to use it.”
Kazkommertsbank’s Executive Director, Muhit Inebekov, said: “Continuing our tradition of being an innovative bank, we have taken on another important task – integration into the IT system of the largest company in the country, which will undoubtedly stimulate domestic business.”
Joint work on the project began in early 2011 following signature of the Memorandum on cooperation and coordination as part of a long-term strategy regarding electronic payments between Kazakhstan Temir Zholy and Kazkommertsbank. In the future, the national company plans to transfer all cargo transportation orders to the website.
