OREANDA-NEWS. July 25, 2011. Moto journey which aim is to capture the attention of all traffic participants to the culture of mutual relations on the road, mutual respect and road traffic safety, started in Kyiv today.

Participants of BikeRai moto journey are well known Ukrainians, among them particularly are: double strongest man of the planet titleholder Vasyl’ Virastyuk, known Ukrainian biker Ashot "Salvador" Arushanov, master of sports in free-style wrestling, sumo wrestler Oleh Chernukha, actor and showman Hennadiy Popenko, author and performer of Ukrainian bohatyrs’ anthem Yuriy Voron, chief of Department of transport and road safety in Main Administration of Ukrainian Rescue Service Oleksandr Korniychuk.

Moto journey participants will pass through 25 capitals of Ukrainian regions, to capture the attention of car drivers and community to the problems existing on the road, and to call for mutual respect between car drivers and traffic participants moving on the two-wheeled transport. General distance of the journey is 5.033 kilometres, duration – 9 days (from the 17th till the 26th of July, 2011). Moto journey takes place with the support of State Automobile Inspection of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

OKKO filling complexes network became the general partner of the journey.

Every 16 minutes there is a road traffic accident in Ukraine, and every two hours one person perishes. In Ukraine the relative amount of death toll of road traffic accidents is 10 times more than in the European Union countries and USA. Only last year 4.700 Ukrainians lost their lives. Taking into account the negative statistical tendency, Ukrainian bikers call motorists for mutual respect on the road and emphasize that "Bikers are friends, not trouble."
