Datong Coal Mine Group Develops Technological Innovation

The over sixty-years' development of Datong Coal Mine Group has been through a continuous scientific innovation and it has witnessed the history of China coal mine industry. Nowadays, Datong Coal Mine Group has already developed as a massive intergrated energy group, whose coal production reached 1.5 million tons of a year, reported the press-centre of Datong Coal Mine Group.
The scale of Datong Coal Mine Group has been through Shanxi Province, China and other countries. The involved industries include coal as the main one, plus electricity power coal, chemical industry, steel industry, machinery manufacturing, construction material, tourism services and so on. Railways and ports are both used as significant ways for coal transportation. In short, Datong Coal Mine Group is a group which is cross-regional, cross-industry and cross-possessional.
The scientific innovation of Datong Coal Mine Group can be summarized as implementing three strategies and constructiong three according systems.
First, to positively implement the strategy of technology lead, and to form a complete scientific innovation system. After years of exploration and practice, development and accumulation, Datong Coal Mine Group has formed a scientific innovation system with abounding subjects and a logical structure, which positively pushes forward the expantion of the Group. And it can be reflected in the following three aspects: taking national level technology as a core to form a scientific innovation system, taking the combination of production, teaching and research as an emphasis to build a scictific innovation platform, and taking talent development scheme as a focus to create a sciectific innovation team.
Second, to positively carry out the strategy of independent innovation, and to form a system that focuses on the core technology of coal resource development. As the biggest "experimental field" among the national coal industries, and the "museum" of mining technology and equipment under various extracting conditions, Datong Coal Mine Group keeps investing in science and technology. Especially during the 11th Five-Year Plan period, there has been over 200 scientific and technological projects, and the total factor productivity has reached to 42%. A great amount of innovative technologies which own the proprietary intellectual property rights have sprung up. Results of the above strategy can be embodied specifically in the following, firstly, a number of exclusive core technologies and self-owned intellectual property rights have been developed; secondly, a standard for the construction and technology management of ten-million-tons coal mine has been formulated; thirdly, some key projects in the National Science & Technology Pillar Program have been undertaken by Datong Coal Mine Group.
Third, to positively perform the strategy of environmental-friendly technology, and to form a intergrated system that is lead by the coal mine recycling technology. Tashan Circular Economy Park has been built under the guidance of "black coal, green exploring; circular economy, clean mining; high-carbon industry, low-carbon development" mode. Tashan Circular Economy Park, based on the ten-million-ton coal mine, runs 13 projects including 2 mines, 10 factories and 1 road. It is currently the first most complete circular economy park in China's coal industry, which takes coal as primary, while also supplemented by electricity, and chemical industry, building materials, minaral engineering and reclamation of mine water. One great feature of the scientific innovatioin of the Park is the comination of low-carbon technology and circular technology, which can be seen from the following three aspects, the technology system that can efficiently recycle coal resource, the techonology that sorts coal from its associated minerals at the same time, and the technology system that helps the whole-park, whole-proess, and whole system's energy saving and emission reduction.
