OREANDA-NEWS. July 25, 2011. According to forecasts of vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Infrastructure Borys Kolesnikov, next year it will be transported 500 million tons of cargoes by railways. To realize this task it would be possible owing to modernization and scale updating of rolling stock of Ukrzaliznytsya.

Already on results of first half of 2011 year it is transported 224.3 million tons of cargoes by the railway. "I think, that on results of year we will leave on a parameter of rail transportation - 480 million tons of cargoes, and in the first half-year of next year - we plan to overcome a 500-million boundary on transportation of cargoes", - the vice Prime Minister of Ukraine told.

Modernization of a rolling stock, on Borys Kolesnikov's belief, should become a priority direction of reforming of Ukrzaliznytsya. "We need to buy from next year on 100 locomotives annually", - he told.

Works on updating a cargo rolling stock has been already begun: on July, 20, 2011 between Ukrzaliznytsya and joint-stock company "Elektrovozostroitel" (Georgia) the memorandum providing within 2012-2016 to construct for the Ukrainian railways of 141 new main cargo electric locomotive ВЛ11М/6 and their analogues 8Е1і is signed.

292 more cargo electric locomotives of a set 2El-4 will be constructed for the Ukrainian railways till 2016 (the memorandum on cooperation between Ukrzaliznytsya, JSC "Transmashholding" and "Luhanskteplovoz").

In this year railways of Ukraine have begun realization of the program "the Ukrainian carriage". By the branch program "the Ukrainian carriage" is stipulated manufacturing 25 thousand gondolas at car-repair factories which are in submission to Ukrzaliznytsya, due to the involved means. It is planned to construct about 8 thousand carriages in 2011.

Remind, from the beginning of 2011 in comparison with I half of 2010 year freight traffic have grown on 11.6 %. In total for a half-year it is transported 292.5 million tons of cargoes (for I half of 2010 year - 262 million tons). From them it is transported 224.3 million tons by the railway, motor transport – 66.7 million tons. Cargo handling in marine trading ports has grown on 6.2 % - up to 56.32 million tons.
