"The new edition is supposed to timely track the economic situation and its trends across the CIS, and in the first place in countries who are members of our Bank, - says Vladimir Yasinskiy, managing director for analytical work, a member of EDB Management Board. - Macromonitor is to provide information to the expert association of the region's countries and at the same time provide analytical support to the investment-credit arm of the Bank".
The current issue focuses on results of the 1st quarter and prospects till the end of 2011. EDB's analysts have come to a conclusion that at the beginning of the year the recovery of CIS economies was continuing:
- in the first quarter the region's economy grew by 4.8%,
- the net export was as before driving the economic growth in countries exporting raw materials,
- work migrants' money transfers were driving economies of countries exporting labour,
- thanks to a favourable economic situation in global commodities market state budgets have shown better indicators.
