OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2011. Reforming of railway transportation of Ukraine will improve quality of service of passengers as well as will assist improvement of quality of management by railway branch. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of infrastructure Boris Kolesnikov said this.

"A priority, if we talk about market of transportations, - passenger transportations. Ukraine within six years should refuse from night trains and raise speed of movement, - Kolesnikov told. – Very important issue for our clients which sending cargoes is electrification of ways. Except for effect of speed the effect of ecological compatibility is added: electricity much more green, and our country does not extract so much some oil that diesel fuel to make. Therefore for us it is very important"

According to vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, in this year for the first time for the twentieth anniversary of independence of our state 400 km of tracks will be electrified, and in the long term - to finish a fraction of the electrified sites with present nearby 11,5 thousand in km up to 15 thousand km.

One more priority direction of reforming of Ukrzaliznytsia is modernization of a rolling stock. "We have to buy from next year on 100 locomotives annually", - he told.
