OREANDA-NEWS. July 20, 2011. IBC participated in a roundtable to discuss the bill "On amendments and additions to the Code of Civil Procedure of the Kyrgyz Republic." The discussions were attended by representatives of local courts and the Supreme Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Office of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Government of the KR, Jogorku Kenesh, the Ministry of Justice, as well as representatives of NGOs and international organizations, reported the press-centre of IBC.

The bill is designed by a working group comprised of judges of the Supreme Court, regional and city courts, Coordinator of the GIZ Program to support legal and judicial reform in Central Asia, representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office, and university.

The developers of the bill informed about the role and powers of a judge, the parties, a prosecutor, and third parties in civil proceedings. An expert opinion on the bill was also presented.

The roundtable was organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic and the German Society for International Cooperation in the framework of the GIZ Program to support legal and judicial reform in Central Asia.
