OREANDA-NEWS. July 19, 2011. SOCAR vice-president on Ecology Ms. Rafiga Huseynzade held a meeting at SOCAR Head office. The meeting was attended by representatives of Environmental Projects Management Department, Ecology Department, EKOL Engineering Services CSC, as well as Operating Companies. During the meeting, the attendees discussed benefiting from services of EKOL Engineering Services CSC for cleaning-up the oil polluted lands, and presented new soil and water-cleaning plants.

Opening the meeting, Ms. Rafiga Huseynzade spoke about SOCAR-implemented environmental projects. It was decided that work on monitoring and reporting on the environmental conditions at the sites of operating companies working offshore in Azerbaijan should be conducted by the SOCAR Ecology Office in the shortest time possible. The meeting noted that reports should indicate the percentage of oil-polluted lands and expand cooperation with EKOL.
