OREANDA-NEWS. July 18, 2011. The festive ceremony of putting the new plant producing drinking water and soft drinks into operation took place in the Yenish farmers association in Magtymguly Etrap, Balkan Velayat. This enterprise supplied with state-of-the-art equipment was built at the request of the Food Industry Association and the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations.

The festively decorated plant greeted the ceremony participants and guests. People from the neighbouring settlements, the representatives of velayat and etrap administrtaions, public organisations and the elders attended the ceremony. Artists, musical and dance groups prepared their present for the remarkable event, a big festive concert.

As is known, uninterrupted drinking water supply to the population is a priority of the state policy, the main goal of which is the wellbeing and prosperity of the Turkmen people. Construction of water supply facilities including water treatment and production enterprises and desalination units is an important aspect of the National Programme of the President of Turkmenistan for improvement of the social and living conditions in villages, settlements, towns in etraps and etrap centres for the period till 2020, the General Programme on the improvement of pure drinking water supply to settlements of Turkmenistan and sectoral and regional social and economic development programmes.

The Sumbar plant built jointly with Turkish partners in Magtymguly Etrap will produce purified portable water from the mountain springs of the subtropical oasis. One of them is the Gargyly spring in the middle course of the Sumbar River that runs from the slopes of the Kopetdag Mountains at a height of 60 metres is known well from ancient times for its tasting properties. This spring was chosen as the source supplying water to the plant, which has the estimated capacity of 3 million decilitres a year.

It should be noted that not only the nature but the effective multistage, ultraviolet and filtration treatment systems will guarantee the high quality of drinking water produced at the enterprise. The specialists of the laboratory supplied with state-of-the-art equipment will ensure the compliance of drinking water with the quality standards. Over 170 people will work at the enterprise where the favourable working conditions are created.
