OREANDA-NEWS. July 18, 2011. Baosteel ranks at No. 212 with USD 40327 million operating revenue and USD 2230 million net profit, up by 64 places from the ranking of No.276 in 2010.  At the same time, Baosteel rank No.5 among 2011 global 500 steelmakers, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

Fortune Global 500 ranking is always the most famous and authoritative list for measuring global large-scaled companies. The list is published once every year by FORTUNE magazine. This year the threshold of Fortune Global 500 is USD 19.5 billion operating revenue, up by USD 2.4 billion from previous year's USD 17.1 billion. Wal-Mart tops the ranking of Fortune Global 500 once again. There are 61 mainland Chinese companies on the list of Fortune Global 500, 15 companies more than the previous year, registering the growth in the number of Chinese companies listed in the ranking for 8 years in a row. 

2010 is the concluding year of China's "eleventh 5-year" planning, and the starting year of Baosteel's development planning for 2010 to 2015 as well as the 25th year of Baosteel production.
