Aeroexpress and MTS Offer New Opportunities to Purchase Tickets
OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2011. Aeroexpress and Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) have introduced the option of paying for electronic train tickets via mobile phone. The new service will allow all mobile phone users to purchase tickets for Aeroexpress trains in the space of just a few minutes, saving time by not having to wait in ticket lines. Tickets will be sold at the carrier’s standard prices, without any extra fees.
The service is available via the Easy Payment mobile payments service provided by MTS. MTS users can pay for tickets from their mobile phone balance, or by bank card. Users of other mobile network operators can pay using bank cards only. After the payment is confirmed, the user receives a ticket in the form of Quick Response code (QR code) which is displayed on the screen in the Easy Payment application. To pass a turnstile, it is enough to touch the screen of the mobile phone onto a reader.
Rustam Akiniyazov, Commercial Director of Aeroexpress: “It is clear that the future is in cashless payments. That is why we cooperate closely with mobile network and payment systems operators. We aim to make the process of buying tickets as easy and convenient as possible. Today Aeroexpress tickets can be paid using several simple methods: from mobile phone accounts, as well as by bank card, and using web payment systems. In the near future, the contactless NFC and PayPass technologies will be launched. They will allow for ticket payment by touching mobile phones or bank cards to turnstiles.”
