Toyota Tsusho Corporation (hereinafter referred to as ЃgToyota TsushoЃh; Headquarters: Nagoya City; President: Jun Karube)Ѓ@established in April this year Toyota Tsusho (Taicang) Special Steel Processing Co., Ltd., (hereinafter referred to as TTSP; Headquarters: Taicang, China; Chairman: Hiroomi Ochiai) in Taicang of Jiangsu Province, in the vicinity of Shanghai, China, and operations recently started following the 100% capital injection by the companyЃfs local subsidiary in China, Toyota Tsusho (China) Co., Ltd.


 Special steel for automobiles was in the past exported from Japan and primarily exported as knock down (KD) parts, which resulted in the adoption of Chinese materials for only a limited portion of the overall demand. In recent years, however, companies have been proceeding with evaluations for using Chinese materials since the environment for local procurement is now suitable.

Toyota Tsusho will respond to the needs of automotive component manufacturers in China through the establishment of TTSP, which is capable of storing, cutting and inspecting functions for Chinese materials, with progress towards the procurement of special steel anticipated.

Furthermore, Toyota Tsusho considers TTSP to be a model case for the special steel center business, as a core business for global implementation in the future, with a sales target of JPY3 billion in five years.
