Ghulam Nabi Azad, union minister for health and family welfare, Government of India, presented a memento of distinction to NDPL on this occasion. Pankaj Kumar Singh, senior manager, corporate sustainability, received the award on behalf of NDPL.
“Blood donation is an extremely personal choice. We are extremely proud of our employees who have voluntarily participated in this activity and have helped save precious lives. We are confident that not only our employees but our other stakeholders too would come forward and take part in such noble activities,” said an NDPL spokesperson.
NDPL, in association with the India Red Cross Society, started organising blood donation camps in 2005, and has continuously encouraged its employees to come forward and donate blood. Close to 1,600 NDPL employees have donated blood during various such camps.
In addition, the company also conducts several other programmes such as health camps and drug de-addiction camps in its distribution network. The camps have benefitted a large number of people from the JJ clusters and other areas.
