OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2011. At meeting with Dmytro Salamatin, Director General of SC Ukroboronprom, President Viktor Yanukovych has instructed him to study the issue of attracting young professionals to the defense industry.

Viktor Yanukovych stressed it is necessary to ensure high school graduates motivation to work in the industry, as the current average age of workers in it is about 55 years.

During the meeting, the Ukroboronprom Director General reported to the President of Ukraine on the situation in the industry, particularly on the technological upgrading of defense-industrial complex.

Viktor Yanukovych drew attention to the importance of active interaction between defense industry enterprises and science. He instructed Dmytro Salamatin to ensure active implementation of the latest scientific developments into the domestic production.

Viktor Yanukovych and Dmytro Salamatin have also discussed the establishment of effective cooperation between the enterprises part of the Ukroboronprom Concern. The President has instructed the Director General to ensure strict financial discipline in the Concern.
