OREANDA-NEWS. July 15, 2011. Mr. Stefan Schmid, previously serving as Deputy COO of OJSC IC ROSNO, has been appointed Deputy CEO and Integration Director. Also, Mr. Schmid will be in charge for the company’s IT operation, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.

Mr. Stefan Schmid was born in Munich (Germany). In 1998, he graduated from the Augsburg University with a master’s degree in finance, controlling, and banking. In the same year, Stefan began his professional career in the consulting division of PriceWaterhouseCoopers and continued working in the banking industry in Germany and Switzerland. In consulting, he worked with many international clients, providing them with advice on organizational change, improvement of business processes and system implementation. In 2005, Stefan was admitted to Dresdner Bank (part of Allianz Group) as Managing Director responsible for the company’s financial operations.

In April 2008, Stefan was appointed Deputy COO of OJSC IC ROSNO. Under Mr. Schmid’s supervision, the company successfully implemented a number of most important strategic projects. Among them are symbolic projects such as Lombardi, which enabled automation of the OMTPL and MOD loss settlement procedures. The SAP project whereunder a new financial system was implemented in ROSNO, thus pioneering in SAP implementation in the Russian insurance market. This innovation made it possible to ensure full conformity of the reporting of IC ROSNO to the international accounting standards and the highest level of transparency and quality of financial operations.

Special attention was paid to the OTE project (Operational Transformation and Modernization) focusing on centralization, standardization of operations and reducing their costs. The project resulted in July 2009 opening of Allianz Eurasia Business Services’ Operating Centre in Voronezh. Today, it is a highly efficient division of ROSNO Group performing loss settlement, administering insurance contracts and rendering phone services to clients throughout the Russian Federation. Presently, the Operating Centre employs about 450 people.

In his new role, Mr. Schmid will be in charge for the massive project "Integration", whereunder it is planned to consolidate CJSC Insurance Joint Stock Company Allianz, OJSC IC Progress Garant, and OJSC IC ROSNO under one brand.
