Bank of China to Offer Banking Services Along Beijing-Shanghai Railway
OREANDA-NEWS. July 14, 2011. The highly anticipated Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway officially started operation at 15:00 (Beijing Time). As one of the first commercial banks that support the online purchase of train tickets, Bank of China has provided comprehensive banking services exclusively for the 14 stations along the railway line including door-to-door payment collection, provision of changes, and settlement of funds, reported the press-centre of Bank of China.
Passing through three municipalities and four provinces and linking the economic corridor between Beijing and Shanghai, the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway is characterized by the longest distance, biggest investment and highest construction standard among all the high-speed railway projects since the founding of the People's Republic of China, providing more convenience and material benefit for the passengers.
To make it easier for the passengers to buy the train tickets, Bank of China has installed, along the railway line, 72 POS terminals and 46 ATMs that enable the passengers to make online ticket reservations and purchases, and also to get refund of payment and ticket exchanges through its service network.
Bank of China in recent years has endeavored to provide safe, convenient and overall e-banking services to its customers by pushing forward the channel development and constantly improving the system of e-channel including online banking, telephone and mobile banking, self-service terminals and home banking.
