Stanley Root Appointed PwC Internal Audit Practice Leader for Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. July 14, 2011. Stanley Root will be responsible for consulting on internal audit. Stanley Root was born in Nottingham in 1954. In 1976, Stanley graduated from the University of Cambridge (St Catharine's College) and was awarded a bachelor degree in human sciences, reported the press-centre of PwC.
In 1984, Stanley started his career with Coopers & Lybrandt in Manchester, and joined Coopers & Lybrandt Russia in 1990. In 1998, Price Waterhouse merged with Coopers&Lybrandt on a global level to establish the PricewaterhouseCoopers network of firms. Stanley Root continued his career with the newly created network. In 1999, he became a partner at PwC Russia. From 2000 till today, Stanley Root has been an automotive practice leader in the Moscow office of PwC. From 2009 to July 2011, Stanley was a firm's regional development leader. In July 2011, Mr. Root was appointed an internal audit practice leader.
Stanley has been involved in the PwC audit and assurance practice for 27 years. Over the years of his career in Russia, Stanley has gained extensive knowledge in the audit of IFRS and US GAAP financial statements. He also has expertise in auditing leading Russian companies under the Russian and international standards as well as in advising internal investors on business development.
Since 1990, Stanley Root has been the member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales (ICAEW/ACA).
