OREANDA-NEWS. July 14, 2011. A report of Vasiliy Bogoslovskiy, the FSUE “Rosmorport” Sochi branch director, was dedicated to issues of recovery and development of regular marine passenger communication along the Black Sea shore. The speech was delivered at the working session named “Passenger Fleet: Construction and Modernization” of the 3rd international conference “Saint Petersburg — The Marine Capital of Russia. Marine Tourism”, reported the press-centre of Rosmorport.

“The first step to marine transport infrastructure renewal has been already made” – said Vasiliy Bogoslovskiy. In order to study demand and work out the algorithm of customs and border services interaction during regular passenger transfers, rapid passenger catamarans Sochi-1 and Sochi-2 were purchased. The catamarans execute regular trips on routes Sochi-Gagra and Sochi-Tuapse.

Operational testing of the passenger vessels allowed to reveal urgent problems and to outline their further solution.

“FSUE “Rosmorport” is opened for a dialog with state and private shipowners and marine passenger fleet operators who are interested in development of Black Sea coast marine and port infrastructure. In 2012 we plan to attract other class passenger vessels, including rapid auto ferries and pleasure crafts, on lines, — highlighted the Sochi branch director in conclusion of his speech.
