OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2011. TRL Krosaki Refractories Limited observed Vana Mahotsav in its Township, Belpahar on 12.07.2011. About 300 numbers of fruit bearing saplings were planted in a patch of one acre of land, inside BR High School. This programme was conducted by the Horticulture and Community Development & Social Welfare Departments of the Company.

Mr. Ainthu Sethi, IFS, DFO, Sambalput Northern Division and Dr. A. K. Chattopadhyay, MD TRL Krosaki inaugurated the programme by planting two Jackfruit saplings. Mr. B. K. Dash, Tahsildar, Lakhanpur, Mr. D. C. Jeet, Forest Range Officer, Belpahar Range, Mr. Kiyotaka Oshikawa, Senior executives of KHC and TRL Krosaki, school teachers, students and members of Ladies Club participated in the plantation programme.

Tata Refractories Limited has started its plantation programme since early nineties. The company has planted 3.52 lakhs of plants in and around its campus and in the community. Horticulture Department of the company takes care of the township and inside factory plantation and the Community Development & Social Welfare Department do the community plantation. This year the company has planned to plant 5000 numbers of saplings in the township as well as in the periphery area. Last year the company had planted 7000 teak saplings in Banjari village near the Ashram school as a part of eco restoration programme.
