OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2011. President Viktor Yanukovych is convinced that only systematic approach to the agricultural sector and rural development problems will allow solving them, he said at today’s press conference for central, regional and international media.
Viktor Yanukovych said that priority issues in the development of agriculture and rural areas are being determined currently. "We must adopt all the laws related to land reform this year," he said. According to the President, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has already adopted one of these laws – the Law on the Land Registry. The President hopes that during its next session the Parliament would adopt other bills necessary for introducing land market in Ukraine in early 2012.
Viktor Yanukovych stressed that land reform "will enable raising additional funds for the development of infrastructure in rural areas." Its implementation, he said, will also enable the efficient use of land resources. "The mechanisms in the land reform will allow involving effective managers in the production of agricultural products, effective land management in Ukraine, and give land owners the opportunity to receive a fair pay for leasing and selling their land," Viktor Yanukovych stressed.
According to the President, these measures are only the first stage of land reform. "This is the barometer, which will allow seeing quickly the advantages and disadvantages of this reform," he said. He assured that constant monitoring of the reform implementation is made.
