ITERA Commenced Seismic Surveys in Caspian Sea
OREANDA-NEWS. July 13, 2011. ITERA Oil and Gas Company, after it has completed the first stage of geochemical oil and gas exploration, commenced 2D/3D seismic survey at Block 21 of the Turkmen sector in the Caspian Sea, reported the press-centre of ITERA.
Sevmorgeo, scientific and manufacturing company of Russia, was retained to carry out offshore seismic study. Sevmorgeo won an international tender. It also has extensive experience of conducting complex geoscience research in shelf zones and in transit zones in Russia and numerous countries around the globe. The company shall survey the entire license area of Block 21 including the transit zone known for high technical risks, with the use of unique equipment and state-of-the-art technologies.
The work is being done within the frameworks of a Product Sharing Agreement and in line with the exploration plan approved of by the State Agency on Management and Use of Hydrocarbons under the President of Turkmenistan.
