OREANDA-NEWS. July 11, 2011. Panoramic views are now available on Yandex.Maps for mobile phones. Users can see panoramas of cities not only on a desktop computer, but also on their mobile devices.

Panoramic views for mobile phones are always on hand. It’s easier to find the way looking at a panoramic photo. Users having difficulty finding the right building, restaurant or hospital on the map can instantly see what it looks like right on site. Drivers will value the possibility to check out parking space or traffic signs. As on the desktop Yandex.Maps service, users can zoom in or zoom out and ‘walk’ along virtual streets. The panoramic view feature is activated by a long tap on the map or a click on the photo on the map.

Currently, Yandex.Maps has panoramic views for about a hundred cities and towns in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. Users can take a look at the sunny resorts of Crimea and Krasnodar Krai, or enjoy the views of the cities in Karelia and the Volga region. Hikers and travelers will appreciate this service, especially in the summertime.

Panoramic views are accessible in the mobile application Yandex.Maps on mobile devices supporting iOS or Android. To enable panoramic views on Yandex.Maps, the users only need to update current version. The application is available for download from the App Store and from the Android Market.
