BEA China Opens First Outlet in Harbin
OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2011. The Bank of East Asia (“BEA”) announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary on the Mainland, The Bank of East Asia (China) Limited (“BEA China”), has opened a branch in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, reported the press-centre of BEA.
Commenting on the opening, Dr. David K.P. Li, Chairman & Chief Executive of BEA and Chairman of BEA China, said, “We are pleased to announce the opening of our Harbin Branch. This new outlet will enable us to further extend our reach to personal and corporate customers in this highly urbanised part of the region.” BEA China currently operates three branches and eight sub-branches in Northeastern China, namely Shenyang and Dalian in Liaoning Province, and Harbin in Heilongjiang Province.
As the capital and largest city of Heilongjiang Province, Harbin is a major economic and trade centre as well as a popular tourist destination. Historically, Harbin has been an important hub for Sino-Russian trade. It is also an important producer of food, machinery, petroleum, chemicals, and medicine.
The new Harbin Branch provides comprehensive Renminbi and foreign currency banking services to all customers. Services include account and deposit services, loans and advances, bill acceptance and discounting, documentary credit and bank guarantees, remittance and settlement, foreign exchange, derivative products, debit cards and credit cards, and overseas investment services for local residents and enterprises.
