Moldovan PM Prolonged Consultations with Society
OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2011. Prime Minister explained this decision by the receipt of numerous requests to carry out consultations from a number of civil society’s groups. Until now, Prime Minister has held consultations with representatives of non-governmental organizations, patronages and trade unions, foreign investors, people forming public opinion, and will carry out consultations with extra-parliamentary parties, parliamentary opposition, Ambassadors accredited in Moldova, representatives of religious cults, scientific circles and others. It is planned that Prime Minister will address citizens on Tuesday, July 12.
He will make conclusions following the consultations with the civil society and will announce decisions concerning the government’s future activity. The decision to carry out consultations was taken by the Prime Minister given the tense situation in the society, affecting the governance process and given the obligations and responsibility bore by the Prime Minister to ensure responsible and efficient governance. Particularly, interlocutors will discuss such subjects as the context, the government has been working in, the reform process, the progress achieved in terms of the European integration, fight against corruption, the social-political situation in Moldova and other subjects of interest.
Vladimir Filat initiated the consultations as the government’s head and not as a political leader, and their main objective is to listen to the society’s opinions about the situation in the country and other important issues faced by Moldova.
