OREANDA-NEWS.  July 08, 2011. Moldova’s Ministry of Finance will contribute 250,000 leis to the authorized capital of the “National Lottery of Moldova” JSC being established. According to the decision made by the Cabinet, the money will be taken from the government’s reserve fund. Earlier, the government decided to establish the “National Lottery of Moldova” JSC, the state in the person of the Ministry of Finance being its founder.

On behalf of the state, this enterprise will have monopoly in carrying out lotteries on the national level. Being the joint-stock company’s founder, the Ministry of Finance will appoint its administrator and members of board. Veaceslav Negruta, the Finance Minister, said earlier that by establishing the “National Lottery of Moldova” JSC the state intends to ensure transparency of collected funds, to increase budget receipts and, according to the international practice, to transfer a part of incomes from gaming to support to sports, education, to implementation of cultural and social projects.

Veaceslav Negruta said, in particular, that it is planned to implement projects aimed at preventing children’s dependence on gaming. It is planned that establishment of the “National Lottery of Moldova” will provide, in addition to the additional state budget receipts, new workplaces and preconditions for economic growth in allied sectors.
