OREANDA-NEWS. July 08, 2011. AvtoKrAZ unveiled its products at the traditional Auto Show KrAZ-2011, reported the press-centre of AvtoKrAZ.

The company exhibited 29 models among which there were museum pieces, serial trucks and some novelties that included the following vehicles:

- the KrAZ C18.1 dump truck powered with the YaMZ-6511 six-cylinder in-line engine rated at 360 hp meeting Euro 4 emission standards. A new power pack manufactured by Yaroslavl engine plant under Renault license is equipped with EGR system, the MFZ 430 single disc clutch, and the 9JS200TA manual double-range transmission.

For the first time in the history of Kremenchug automobile plant a bonnet made of single panel was fitted onto the truck. The vehicle features a new dashboard, integral steering and other engineering changes that altered the cab’s interior;

- a new KrAZ К12.2 street sweeper with City Fant 60 cleaning equipment designed for cleaning streets, municipal transport stations, large public and industrial territories, roads, drain ditches and shafts.

Sweeping equipment is mounted on the KrAZ Н12.2 two-axle cabover provided with the YaMZ-536 six-cylinders in-line engine (Euro 4) rated at 312 hp, EGR system, catalytic muffler, the MFZ 430 single disc clutch, and the 9JS200TA manual transmission. The switch to Euro 5 is not complicated;

- the KrAZ K16.2 garbage truck designed to collect, carry and discharge household, construction and industrial bulk waste in removable garbage containers.

The vehicle is based on the three-axle cab-over chassis KrAZ H23.2 powered with the YaMZ-6501.10 engine (Euro 3) rated at 362 hp and the 9JS200TA manual transmission;

- the KrAZ H23.2R truck provided with cab Renault Kerax designed to be fitted with various bodies for public utility applications including equipment for cleaning urban-drainage and sewerage networks, streets and roads;

- the KrAZ-5233 truck Spetsnaz 4x4 designed to transport rapid deployment forces and security elements. The truck is equipped with the power pack consisting of Yaroslavl engine rated at 330 hp, Sachs clutch and Eaton transmission.

The vehicle is provided with heavy duty wide cross-section tyres 16.00R20 and centralized tyre inflation system.

The holding company’s managers and Mr.Wolfgang Ermlich, representative of Schefer, manufacturer of vehicles designed to collect and carry waste, answered all the questions asked by Ukrainian presspersons at the press-conference.

In particular, in reply to questions concerning exhibition novelties and prospects for cooperation with AvtoKrAZ, Mr.Ermlich expressed his joy at hearing about development of a new KrAZ K16.2 garbage truck designed for powered waste loading/unloading. He said:

- For the moment all Ukrainian cities are interested in implementing this system due to its proven effectiveness. Having launched this project three year ago we faced many difficulties: we were ready to supply containers, but there were no inexpensive domestic vehicles. We had to import vehicles that were too expensive in spite of that they were used. With import duties added to its cost these vehicles were not affordable for Ukrainian customers.

That’s way we are able not only continue our project but go on due to the automobile plant. KrAZ has made a big and important progress: I have scrupulously examined the truck, and I am sure it is as highly-efficient as expensive European vehicle. However, its main advantage is in adaptation for use on our roads, while foreign trucks have not much to boast of. Moreover, this garbage truck price is much low.

Our company will promote the KrAZ trucks to the foreign markets we are present. It is a new chance for the automobile plant and for us, too.
