OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2011. One shareholding – of the Agat JSC – was sold at 5.9 million leis at the auction to sell public shares that began at the Moldovan Stock Exchange. The 30.593 percent shareholding was sold at the initial price, the Moldovan Stock Exchange reports. 4.5 leis will be paid for each of 1 305 256 stocks of the JSC. Agat JSC (Chisinau) produces and sells electronics.

The Agency for Public Property with the Ministry of Economy of Moldova is the auction’s initiator. Public shareholdings in 34 joint-stock companies, most of which have already been on sale before, have been put up for this auction that will last till July 8.

Those are the enterprises of winemaking, canning, tobacco sectors, dairy and sugar industries and others. The state’s share exceeds 51% in 17 shareholdings out of 34 put up for the auction. The total cost of property put up for sale at the initial price amounts to 529.68 million leis (USD 46.5 million).
