It was said by members of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s delegation headed by the EBRD Director of Communications Jonathan Charles at the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Moldova Vladimir Lazar, the Moldovan Ministry of Economy’s press service reports.

The guest said implementation of 5 investment projects of the total budget of 45 million euros had already been started in the first half of this year. Jonathan Charles informed Valerii Lazar, who is also the EBRD Manager for Moldova, of the expansion planned for this year: the Bank is to start its activity in countries of North Africa and Eastern Mediterranean. Valerii Lazar welcomed the extension, expressing his hope that Moldova will be able to fine new economic partners in these regions.

Moldova became the EBRD member on 5th of May 1992. Moldova and the EBRD so far have signed 82 projects of over 584 million euro budget.
