OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2011. Ukraine and Cyprus will actively develop relations in the field of transport. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Cyprus signed an agreement on international automobile transportations. The document was signed by the First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Konstantin Efimenko.

The agreement is designed to streamline the implementation of passenger and freight transportation in regular and irregular connection between the two countries. According to the signed agreement will be determined the order of a quota of permits depending on the type of transportation and order of their exchange. In addition, by the Agreement provided transportation that does not require permits.

The agreement on the international automobile transportations contains the positions, concerning deliverance of the passenger and cargo vehicles which registered in territories of the states-sides, of all taxes, duties and other charges associated with the use or possession of vehicles in Ukraine and Cyprus.

All the issues of cooperation in the field of international road transport, which have mutual interest for Cyprus and Ukraine or have controversial issues shall be resolved within the framework of the Joint Commission. Responsible for the implementation of the Agreement by the governments of both countries is the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and Ministry of Communications and Works Republic of Cyprus.

The agreement will promote mutual trade and economic relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Cyprus, improve road transport conditions and the strengthening of partnerships between nations.

The provisions of the agreement apply to international carriage of passengers and goods vehicles which are registered in the territory of one party, the territories of Ukraine and the Republic of Cyprus and in transit through their territory and to / from third countries.
