OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2011. VTB Bank Yekaterinburg branch, upon request of Ural Airlines, issued a bank guarantee for EUR 2.2 mln to LUFTHANSA TECHNIK AG, GERMANY for maintenance of airliners, reported the press-centre of VTB.

The total amount of bank guarantees provided by the branch to Ural Airlines is EUR 6.9 mln. Since the year-start, the Bank has issued over EUR 4.5 mln in guarantees. Total lending is RUB 800 mln. All transactions are carried out within the RUB 1,230 mln documentary credit limit.

The Bank and one of Russia’s largest air carriers have enjoyed a long-term sustainable relationship, which facilitates the overall development of the industry.

Ural Airlines is among the 6 largest Russian airlines in terms of traffic. The company offers flights to over 120 destinations. Ural Airlines are successfully operating 18 modern Airbus airliners (A320 and A321) under service lease.

In 2010, Ural Airlines carried 1.8 mln passengers. The actual passenger turnover in 2010 increased 20% year-on-year and exceeded 4.8 bln passenger kilometers. In 2010, Ural Arlines planes completed 16,655 flights, a 22% increase since 2009.

The company’s earnings in 2010 amounted to RUB 13.1 bln.
