OREANDA-NEWS. July 05, 2011. The number of used computers has increased in Azerbaijan by 72,500 over the last year.

The State Statistics Committee reports that by early 2011 the country’s population used 419,800 computers. Over the last year the level of penetration of home computers in Azerbaijan has increased from 18.2% up to 21.7%. As a result, the number of computers per every 100 persons has also increased from 3.9 to 4.6 computers.

At that, 38% of the population uses a computer, and among them 39.7% use a computer at home, 22.4% at work, and 22.3% in educational institutions.

The country is also expanding access to the Internet, and today 36% of the population are Internet users, and are three men and two women per every 5 computer users.

Compared to 2010, this year the rate of Internet users in the country has increased by 32.2%.
