OREANDA-NEWS. July 05, 2011. Recently at the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport it was held the meeting of Deputy Minister Borys Zhebrovskyi with the Head of UNICEF in Ukraine Yukie Mokuo in the framework of the cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport and UNICEF.

During the meeting it was discussed the issue concerning the development of national conception of reforming of system of care for children which in difficult circumstances and the development of inclusive education.

Yukie Mokuo paid particular attention to the fact that Ukraine - is one of the countries in which education has achieved great results in many areas, especially on the development of preschool education. The Government of Ukraine, said Yukie Mokuo, has chosen the correct position on the implementation of investment in education. All that is invested in the development, training and education of children from an early age, in the future will bring great results for the state. It is important the interaction of all institutions in the country, which activities are related to social protection of orphans and children deprived of parental care, children with deviant behaviour from low-income families.

Borys Zhebrovskyi highlighted the cooperation between the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport and UNICEF, the readiness of the Ministry to conduct scientific activities and special studies on the development of education, to create access to education for certain categories of children who are in difficult life situations that require study. Special emphasis Deputy Minister made on the need and complexity of the process for boarding schools for orphans, children deprived of parental care, which is associated with many aspects: social, economic and others. The Ministry carried out considerable work in studying and implementing foreign and domestic experience of these issues, it has been developed a series of legal documents, events that regulate the activities of the education departments on the above issues. However, the educational policy of the Ministry aims to develop family-based care of children above categories.

One of the activities of the Ministry is to solve the issue of implementation throughout Ukraine of the Kyiv experience on pre-professional training of children who attend boarding schools, and prepare them for future independent life in society. To each boarding school will be attached vocational school, for joint cooperation in pre-professional training, and in future each student gets workplace.

As a result of the meeting it is agreed on a joint collaboration between UNICEF and the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sport of the above issues.
