Eurasia Paid KZT900 000 for Cleaning Up Oil-Contaminated Soil
OREANDA-NEWS. July 05, 2011. Eurasia has paid KZT900,000 for cleaning up soil contaminated by oil, indicated in the report released, reported the press-centre of Eurasia.
During excavation, an excavator damaged an oil pipeline used for transporting oil from Qarun Petroleum refinery to a nearby tank farm. Following damage to the pipeline, oil leaked under pressure and contaminated the surrounding ground.
As a result of the insured event, a state of emergency was declared with all excavations and pumping of oil being halted. Qarun Petroleum Company hired a specialized company to decontaminate the effected soil.
