OREANDA-NEWS. July 1, 2011. Vinayak Deshpande took charge as the managing director of Tata Projects, Hyderabad, with effect from July 1, 2011.

A graduate in chemical engineering (1980) from IIT, Kharagpur, he has over 30 years of work experience in different roles in diverse industries, starting with the design and sales of boilers and captive power plants at Thermax, and industrial automation and process controls at Tata Honeywell, of which he was the managing director of its India business for five years till 2004-05. After an eventful stint as the executive president (operations) of Tata Teleservices, Mr Dehspande moved to Hindustan Construction Company in 2008-09 as the president in-charge of its EPC and construction business.

Mr Deshpande is joining Tata Projects at a time when opportunities in the engineering and infrastructure space are growing rapidly and the company looks forward to achieving all-round excellence under his leadership.
