OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2011. Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that it is in talks with ICONICS, its partner in iQ Platform automation solutions, to strengthen their support for the increasing development of infrastructure in emerging markets.

 The partnership will be enhanced by fully integrating ICONICS' supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) software with Mitsubishi Electric's controllers and engineering software. Marketing under the iQ Platform brand will target process industries, energy-saving and monitoring systems, and the global infrastructure market. In addition to developing highly integrated software/hardware solutions, the two companies plan to share global-marketing knowhow and capabilities.

 As a leading supplier of industrial automation equipment, Mitsubishi Electric enhances production efficiency in fields including LCD panels, semiconductors, food and beverages, and automobiles. The company now intends to support infrastructure development in emerging markets such as China, Southeast Asia, India and Brazil with energy management and control solutions for water treatment facilities, commercial buildings, airports, subways and various other kinds of facilities.
