Moldovan Industrial Output Grew 9,2% in January-April 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2011. Particularly, in April this year, industrial output increased by 11.4 percent compared to March last year, the National Statistics Bureau reports. The industrial output growth in January-April 2011 was determined by the increase in the mining production – by 18.6 percent and in manufacturing – by 12.5 percent.
At the same time, production and distribution of electricity and heat decreased by 3.1% from a year earlier. Production of foodstuffs and beverages during the first four months of 2011 climbed 3.9 percent in Moldova. Particularly, production of finished food for animals grew 2.7 times, production of canned fruit and vegetables – 24.5%.
Production, processing and canning of meat increased 7.4 percent, production of beverages – 2.4 percent, diary production – 1.5 percent. A considerable growth in January-April this year was reported by enterprises producing machines and equipment – 1.5 times, metallurgic industry – 33.7 percent. Production of other non-metal mineral products (glass, cement, gypsum and others) grew 32.2 percent, leather and shoes – 14.8 percent, tobacco production – 12.5 percent, clothes – 10.7 percent, production of chemical industry – 7.2 percent, wood and goods made of wood – 6 percent, furniture – 5 percent.
At the same time, output of vegetable and animal oils reduced by 6.2 percent, paper and cardboard – 6.2%. Reduction in provision of steam and hot water was 4.4 percent, production and distribution of electric power – 1.8 percent.
