OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2011. The First vice Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy of Latvia discussed the possibility to deepen cooperation. Participants of the meeting have in detail stopped on questions of progress of cooperation in power area.

Opportunities to deepen bilateral economic cooperation between Ukraine and Latvia were discussed at a meeting in Kiev the First vice Prime Minister - Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev and the Minister of Economy of Latvia Atis Kampars.

Participants of the meeting have in detail stopped on questions of progress of cooperation in energy area. Andriy Klyuyev and Atis Kampars discussed the prospects of energy of the European Union and the CIS countries, including - of nuclear power, steps to improve its security. Participants have shared their experiences and plans for their countries in the energy sector.

Andriy Klyuyev and Atis Kampars have thought about the necessity of intensification of the bilateral business council.

The First vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Minister of Economy of Latvia also discussed the progress of negotiations on the FTA between Ukraine and the European Union.

June 28-30, 2011 in Kiev was held the fourth meeting of Ukrainian-Latvian intergovernmental commission on economic, industrial, scientific and technical cooperation.
