Agrarian & Industrial Complex to Become Most Attractive in Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. July 01, 2011. Realization of the land reform will assist increase of investment appeal of the Ukrainian agrarian sector and inflow of investments to agrarian and industrial complex. Such opinion the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk stated. As he said, the agrarian and industrial complex has all chances to become most quickly growing and most investment attractive sector of the Ukrainian economy.
According to the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, we have already observed the stable tendency to growth of investments into agrarian sector today. "On results of 2010 the capital investment in a fixed capital on agrarian sector grew more than on 30 % and direct foreign investments - more than on 5 %. In conditions when the world economic continues to suffer from consequences of an economic crisis, it is very positive parameter", - Mykola Prysyazhnyuk declared.
As he said, in conditions of growth of the population and shortage of the foodstuffs in the world Ukraine had unique chance to transform the agriculture on effective and fast-growing sector of the economy, which would be able to guarantee not only internal, but also the international food security. "We undertake all steps for the further increase of investment potential of our agrarian sector. This will facilitate the introduction of agricultural insurance, and opening branch of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange in Ukraine. But the main issue for today - the implementation of the land reform that finally will allow Ukrainian farmers use mechanisms to attract credit resources in production, as farmers do around the world", - Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
The Minister stressed that Ukraine was recognized in the world as the country with the largest potential for agricultural production.
