OREANDA-NEWS. June 30, 2011. Ukraine is interested in extracting coking coal in Mongolia, President Viktor Yanukovych said at a joint press conference with President of Mongolia Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj.

He said Ukraine has received such a proposal from the Mongolian side during today's talks. The President also said Ukrainian experts will visit Mongolia soon in order to study the available "ways of coking coal extraction, its quality, and, of course, the possibility of transportation."

According to the President, Ukraine is interested in cooperation with Mongolia in various fields. "We are deeply interested interest in participating in the development of other mineral resources in Mongolia, as well as their possible processing," he said.

The Ukrainian side is particularly interested in uranium mining, etc., he said. The President stressed there is a possibility of establishing Ukrainian production and processing of the raw material in Mongolia. "We are now actively studying the situation ... and will soon act," the President said.
