OREANDA-NEWS. June 29, 2011. Occupational Safety and Health Administration System of JSC “Metallurgical Plant n/a A.K. Serov” (the enterprise of ferrous metallurgy sector of UMMC) complies with the international standard OHSAS 18001:2007.

The specialists of LLC " Russland" (official representative of group in the territory of RF) carried out the certification audit.

- We noted that employees of the metallurgical plant are familiar with terms and definitions, they understand the meaning of words "danger" and "risk". In other places we still not always meet staff comprehension of safety, - Sergei Koptsov, leading auditor of LLC "Russland", stated.

The enterprise commenced introduction of the system in accordance with international standards in 2007. In March, 2008 the metallurgical plant adopted Occupational Safety and Health Policy. In the same year, top management and heads of departments responsible for Occupational Safety and Health Administration System underwent relevant training. By the beginning of 2009, all operating personnel was trained for OHSAS:18001-2007 requirements. Moreover, identification of dangers and risks was performed for all kinds of activities.

Note that our enterprise has already implemented the quality management system ISO 9001:2008, international industry-specific standard ISO/TS 16949 for automotive industry, and environmental management systems ISO 14001:2007.
