OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2011. On Saturday, 25 June at 04:44 p.m. (Astana time) a storm wind and heavy rain in Karagandy Province caused falling of reinforced concrete towers followed by emergency outage of 500 kV OHTL Agadyr-Zhezkazgan. Power consumption of Zhezkazgan power centre was restricted by 60 MW insured by the emergency automation. 

Power supply of the centre was completely reestablished in 6 minutes (04:50 p.m.) by actions of operational personnel of KEGOC National Dispatch Centre of the System Operator (NDC SO) through  switching on two 220 kV OHTLs.

So far the repair work is being carried out at the emergency section involving Akmolinskiye MES, Severnye MES, Almatinskiye MES and Tsentralnye MES resources. 

For the period of repair and recovery works, KEGOC established the operation mode that provides for reliable power supply to consumers of Zhezkazgan power centre.
