OREANDA-NEWS. June 27, 2011. The Council of Veterans and the Youth Council of IDGC of Volga, JSC, in cooperation with the regional branches of the Voluntary Association for Assistance to Army, Air Force, and Navy (DOSAAF), take great care to preserve and maintain the Great Patriotic War memorials and monuments in the settlements and regional centers. In summer and autumn, the Company’s power engineers, together with the regional branches of DOSAAF, will examine and improve the condition of the war monuments and memorials located in the Saratov region, the Samara region, the Ulyanovsk region, the Orenburg region, the Penza region, the Republic of Mordovia and the Chuvash Republic.

The next stage of the patriotic event will include study of historical evidences related to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War born in the regions of operation of IDGC of Volga, JSC. It will also include tracing activities and archival researches. The goal of the patriotic event “From Motherland of heroic deeds – to Motherland of a Hero”, initiated by IDGC Holding, JSC, is to promote patriotic education of the youth by encouraging their interest in the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, to ensure intergenerational continuity, to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between countries –allies of World War II.
