OREANDA-NEWS. June 24, 2011. Tata Motors today launched the Tata Nano in Nepal. The car will be on sale across Nepal through the company’s distributor, Sipradi Trading, at the 14 Sipradi owned and authorised dealer showrooms.

Speaking on the introduction of the Tata Nano in Nepal, Johnny Oommen, head – international business (passenger vehicles), Tata Motors, said, “We are delighted to introduce the Tata Nano in Nepal. We are confident that with its comfort, performance and manoeuvrability, the Tata Nano is the ideal small car for discerning customers of Nepal and will win their hearts. With Sipradi, we have created a countrywide infrastructure to service our customers.”

The introductory price of the Tata Nano in Nepal is NPR7.98 lakh. In the first phase, bookings will be open for 10 days, starting from today. All the three variants of the Tata Nano will be available for booking at the 14 Sipradi owned and authorised dealer showrooms. The Nano Standard can be booked for NPR10,000,  the Nano CX for NPR20,000 and the Nano LX for NPR30,000. The equated monthly instalment for the Tata Nano will be as low as NPR11,111.

To mark the Tata Nano’s introduction, Tata Motors and Sipradi have begun a countrywide rally, called the “Nano Yatra Nepal”, which started on June 1, 2011, in Kathmandu. During the journey, two Tata Nanos will cover about 40,000km, visiting 15 landmark destinations. The drive, which has so far covered over 6,000km, is providing customers in Nepal with a visible testimony to the Tata Nano’s robustness and reliability.

Tata Motors has existed in Nepal for 36 years. The company’s portfolio of passenger vehicles in the country comprises the Indica Xeta, the Indica V2, the Indica Vista, the Indigo CS, the Manza, the Sumo, the Grande, the Safari and the Aria. Tata Motors is the third largest passenger vehicle marketer in Nepal.
