OREANDA-NEWS. June 23, 2011. In Sochi the specialists have started decorating the supports of the power transmission line of 220 kV Psou – Poselkovaya line.
These works will enable the power facility to look well-suited to the surrounding landscape and architecture of the capital of the Olympic Games 2014. At the same time, such decorative finishing will improve anticorrosion protection of a power line in the particularly humid zone of the Black Sea coast.

The painting of supports will extend the zinc coating service life to 50 years. The protective coating has enhanced humidity resistance, strength and environmental friendliness characteristics. The total of 30 supports to be installed at 220 kV Psou-Poselkovaya line will be decorated - they will be painted in various colors, and artistic highlighting will be mounted.

This power line was put into operation in 2009. It is the power source of the whole sports facilities mountain cluster: joint ski and biathlon venues, snowboard park, freestyle center, Mountain Olympic Village and the ski-jumping facility.
