OREANDA-NEWS. June 23, 2011. On June 18, Wu Bangguo, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and chairman of the National Congress, came to inspect PetroChina Urumqi Petrochemical Company.

At the aromatics complex of the company's oil refinery and the central control room of its No. 2 Fertilizer Plant, Wu Bangguo made a cordial visit of the employees of all nationalities in the first-line production, and was briefed the operation status of the facilities.

Knowing that Urumqi Petrochemical had developed into a large integrated enterprise focusing on oil refinery and production of fertilizers and chemical fibers, he asked detail about some information such as sulfur content in oil products, light oil yield, production and sales of PX and PTA products, production technology of synthetic ammonia – urea, sulfur recovery and the operation of wastewater treatment equipment.

Finally, he emphasized that it was imperative to constantly increase the rate of product differentiation by extending industry chains so as to meet market demand and accieve excellent performance as required by environmental protection.
