Belarus Sells Excise Stamps to Importers of High-Priced Alcohol
OREANDA-NEWS. June 22, 2011. The Belarusian government has decided to sell excise stamps to importers of high-priced alcohol that is now imported without limitations, under resolution #714 of the Council of Ministers.
Earlier, excise stamps were sold to importers that implemented the exclusive right of the state to import alcohol.
The decree liberalizes import and trade in alcoholic beverages and expands the list of alcoholic beverages that are not subject to the exclusive right of the state to import alcohol. It will be possible to import high-priced cognacs, grape wines, vermouths, sparkling wines, whisky, rum and gin without limitations. Only importers with authorized funds of at least 250,000 euros will be allowed to import alcohol.
